HW #2 - P #4 - Isochoric Condensation of Water Vapor

Superheated water vapor at 180 psia and 500°F is allowed to cool at constant volume until the temperature drops to 250°F. At the final state, determine...
a.) the pressure
b.) the quality
c.) the enthalpy
d.) Show the process on a TV diagram with respect to saturation curves

So if the volume stays the same there is some liquid water and vap water so it is a saturated liquid the amounts of each can be found by the V^'s of the two and solving to make the correct volume. So the preaure is just the vap preasure and 250F. Is this really the correct reasoning for part a or am I missing something

The approach to solving the problem that you described is correct and I think the reasoning is correct as well. The key here is that V^ falls BETWEEN V^(sat liq) and V^(sat vap).

Yes, but you need to show where the vertical line lies relative to the two-phase envelope.
